focus-ratings-mornoing newsGood morning...

I am sorry for the brevity of yesterday's Morning News.

On Tuesday I had a blinder of a day, largely working on an exciting new project that I need to get finished before racing resumes in the UK.

As a result, (and because the weather was lovely) I decided to treat myself to a nice meal in the back yard and duly bought a dozen oysters, some whelks, a nice bottle of rosé wine and even made some mayonnaise.

I had a great evening but...

Yes, you guessed it...

At 1am I woke up with the knowledge that I had about 6.12 seconds to get to the toilet or there would be a bit of a mess.

And that reoccurred every 20 minutes or so, pretty much all day long.

I didn't feel in the slightest bit ill but I was very glad that I'd just bought a new pack of toilet paper.

I never knew I was so full of sh*t!

Now, this might not be the ideal subject to talk about whilst you are having your cornflakes but I need to explain why I didn't get any work done yesterday (although I did read a major chunk of World War Z - the book is far better than the film.)

Am feeling fine now and will try to catch up with emails and the Happy Valley draw bias today.

And I might steer clear of rosé wine for the next few weeks or so.

Compass Ratings

Yesterday we got 2 top rated winners from the 8 races (one of our top rated horses was a non-runner.)

Using the Hong Kong tote prices, we got 9 points paid to the 8 points staked.

French Ratings

I've only found one decent race in France today; the 10:40 at Deauville.

Our top rated horse, Edisa, is the favourite - the high rating is mainly down to a win at Belmont Park (USA) last September. The winner's prize money (which the ratings take into account) was £314,960.

Other Ratings

I've had a scour around but I can't find any other Group/Graded or Listed racing today.

Something to make you smile...
