Good morning...
I would like to apologise for not doing a Morning News yesterday.
I think that, because I worked through the weekend, it sort of caught up with me and I overslept.
This has sort of put me a day behind.
I thought that it might be a good idea to explain how I come up with systems...
I start off with a concept; it has to be logical and make sense.
One concept I like is Badly Beaten Favourites.
The logic is as follows...
If the horse was the favourite in its last race then the betting public and the bookmakers must have thought that it was the best horse in the race.
If the horse was badly beaten, that will show up on the horse's form and, as a result, punters will shy away.
That means that the horse will be undervalued.
Now, if the horse is running very soon after its last (disastrous) race...
That shows that the Trainer has faith in the horse.
I ran that query through the new Builder on Early Bird Ratings and this is what I got...

A couple of dozen simple and logical systems like the one above might make a pretty decent betting portfolio.
By using the Early Bird ratings you have more time to analyse the selections and, potentially get on the better early prices (or Best Odds Guaranteed.)

Top Rated Horse - There were 10 winners from the top rated horses from 38 Races. If you had blindly backed the top rated horse in all of the races you would have had 34.29 units returned to 38 units staked. The Top Rated Profit Index was, thus, -9.76%
2nd Rated Horse - There were 7 winners from the second rated horses from 36 Races. If you had blindly backed the 2nd rated horse in all of the races you would have had 39.11 units returned to 36 units staked. The 2nd Rated Profit Index was, thus, 8.64%
3rd Rated Horse - There were 8 winners from the third rated horses from 38 Races. If you had blindly backed the 3rd rated horse in all of the races you would have had 46.71 units returned to 38 units staked. The 3rd Rated Profit Index was, thus, 22.92%
Non Handicap Races - Top Rated Horse - There were 14 non-handicap races yesterday. From these races there were 4 Top Rated winners. Thus, the Strike Rate (for Top Rated Horses) was 28.57%
Top Rated Horse - If you had blindly backed the top rated horse in all of the races you would have had 7.42 units returned to 14 units staked. The Top Rated Non-Handicap Profit Index was, thus, -47%
Non Handicap Races - Top Three Rated Horses - There were 14 non-handicap races yesterday. From these races there were 10 Top Three Rated winners. Thus, the Strike Rate (for the Top Three Rated Horses) was 71.43%

George falls in love...
One Sunday morning George burst into the living room and said, "Dad! Mom! I have some great news for you! I am getting married to the most beautiful girl in town. She lives a block away and her name is Susan."
After dinner, George's dad took him aside, "Son, I have to talk with you. Look at your mother, George. She and I have been married 30 years, she's a wonderful wife and mother, but, she has never offered much excitement in the bedroom, so I used to fool around with women a lot."
"Susan is actually your half sister, and I'm afraid you can't marry her."
George was brokenhearted.
After eight months he eventually started dating girls again.
A year later he came home and very proudly announced, "Diane said yes! We're getting married in June."
Again his father insisted on another private conversation and broke the sad news. "Diane is your half sister too, George.
"I'm awfully sorry about this."
George was livid!
He finally decided to go to his mother with the news his father had shared.
"Dad has done so much harm. I guess I'm never going to get married," he complained.
"Every time I fall in love, Dad tells me the girl is my half sister."
"Hee hee," his mother chuckled, shaking her head, "Don't pay any attention to what he says. He's not really your father."
