focus-ratings-mornoing newsGood morning...

Well, you know what they say about the best laid plans of mice and men....

Yesterday was supposed to be a gardening day.

I did get as far as watering my plants and deadheading my petunias but, alas, that's about as far as I got.

I guess that I'll be scrubbing the patio and cleaning the BBQ this afternoon.

Anyway, enough of that, let's get on to the important stuff...

The racing.

Focus Ratings

focusIt's nice to start the day with a winner and...

That's exactly what we did yesterday.

In the first race of the day, our top rated horse won @ 2.82 BSP.

Not much of a price, I agree, but...

There were bigger priced winners later on in the day.

Newmarket - 13:35 - Gin Palace - 1st @ 9.90 BSP
Hamilton - 14:20 - Granite City Doc - 1st @ 14:34 BSP
Windsor - 16:10 - Settle Petal - 1st @ 9.66 BSP
Curragh - 17:15 - Njord - 1st @ 13.66 BSP

This means that, had you blindly backed the top rated horse in every race, you would have made a 100% POI (Profit on Investment.)

Something to make you smile...

Engineering Problem

Bubba applied for an engineering position at a Lake Charles refinery.

A Yankee applied for the same job and both applicants having the same qualifications were asked to take a test by the manager.

Upon completion of the test, both men only missed one of the questions.

The manager went to Bubba and said: "Thank you for your interest, but we've decided to give the Yankee the job."

Bubba asked: "And why are you giving him the job? We both got nine questions correct. This being Louisiana, and me being a Southern boy, I should get the job!"

The manager said: "We have made our decision not on the correct answers, but rather on the one question that you both missed."

Bubba then asked: "And just how would one incorrect answer be better than the other?"

The manager replied: "Bubba, its like this. On question #4 the Yankee put down; "I don't know." You put down, "Neither do I."
