focus-ratings-mornoing newsGood morning...

Yesterday was a bit difficult for me as the internet in the village was on and off all day long.

So, although I started the day with good intentions...

I actually got very little done.

I'm hoping that today is better.

That does mean that my schedule is falling further and further behind but,

I'm not letting it get to me - the new work will be done when it's done.

Focus Ratings

focusA slightly better day, yesterday but...

The racing is a bit silly at the moment.

One of my members explained it is this way...

As I said a few weeks ago the racing will be all over the place til July at the earliest and I was right.

Look at all the big priced winners coming in as the big trainers want money in quick so they are releasing the best horses and getting huge prices.

Which explains it far better than I ever could.

Our top rated horse came second.

There is one Listed race in France today.

I won't be betting on it as there are only 4 runners and, when compiling the ratings, none of them looked very special.

Something to make you smile...

An old woman called the hospital

A grandmother telephoned St Joseph’s Hospital and she timidly asked: “Is it possible to speak to someone who can tell me how a patient is doing?”

The operator responded: “I’ll be glad to help, dear. What’s the patient’s name and room number?”

The grandmother in her weak tremulous voice said: “Norma Findlay, Room 302.”

The operator replied: “Let me place you on hold while I check with her nurse.”

After a few minutes the operator returned to the phone: “Oh, good news. Her nurse has told me that Norma is doing very well. Her blood pressure is fine; her blood work just came back as normal. And her physician, Dr Cohen, has scheduled her to be discharged Tuesday.”

The grandmother said: “Thank you. That’s wonderful. I was so worried! God bless you for the good news.”

The operator replied: “You’re more than welcome. Is Norma your daughter?”

The grandmother said: “No, I’m Norma Findlay in Room 302. No one tells me anything.”

Fever pitch

It’s the World Cup Final, and a man makes his way to his seat right next to the pitch.

He sits down, noticing that the seat next to him is empty.

He leans over and asks his neighbour if someone will be sitting there. ‘No,’ says the neighbour. ‘The seat is empty.’

‘This is incredible,’ said the man. ‘Who in their right mind would have a seat like this for the Final and not use it?’

The neighbour says, ‘Well actually the seat belongs to me. I was supposed to come with my wife, but she passed away. This is the first World Cup Final we haven’t been to together since we got married.’

‘Oh, I’m so sorry to hear that. That’s terrible... But couldn’t you find someone else, a friend, relative or even a neighbour to take her seat?’

The man shakes his head. ‘No,’ he says. ‘They’re all at the funeral.’

Friends forever?

Two campers are walking through the woods when a huge brown bear suddenly appears in the clearing about 50 feet in front of them.

The bear sees the campers and begins to head toward them.

The first guy drops his backpack, digs out a pair of sneakers, and frantically begins to put them on.

The second guy says, ‘What are you doing? Sneakers won’t help you outrun that bear.’

‘I don’t need to outrun the bear,’ the first guy says. ‘I just need to outrun you.’
