Good morning...
Well, yesterday was a pretty dire day pretty much all round.
However, I am quite happy to crow about the good days so...
I have to live with those days which are less good.
It all balances out in the end.
I imagine that, if I added up all the races from the last week (the first week of racing in months)...
The strike rate and POI would look pretty good.
Focus Ratings
I am desperately trying to find some good news to pass on...
We got a forecast although...
It didn't pay very much.
We got a 44.44% strike rate in the non-handicap races and, has you blindly backed the top rated horse in those races, you would have made a profit on stakes of 102% but..
That's about it.
Let's hope that today is better for the ratings.

Compass Ratings
For yesterday's Sha Tin meeting we didn't get a single top rated winner.
I was out yesterday...
So I missed the results coming in.
However this does compensate for the ridiculously profitable Sunday's that we have seen over the last couple of months.
I'll be getting the ratings for Wednesday's meeting at Happy Valley out tomorrow morning.
Spotlight Ratings
Although 1 top rated horse won in France yesterday (and another 3 races were won by top three rated horses, there were no stand out points from yesterday's Spotlight Ratings.
There are no Spotlight Ratings for today.
It's a bit early for me to see if there are any for tomorrow.
Ante Post Ratings
From next week I shall be rating (well in advance) any decent races that need to be rated as part of my Ante Post Ratings service.
Obviously, you as Focus Ratings members will get access to these ratings for free.
Now, I anticipate that I should be able to produce Ante Post Ratings for all big race entries about month before the race.
I'll be updating you early next week on how to access Ante Post Ratings.
Place Profits
There were no Place Profits selections yesterday.
Place Profits only uses races with 5 to 10 runners;
Because of the large fields over the last week, this reduces the number of selections.
This makes it 4 wins and 5 seconds from the last 10 races (taking the 2 non-runners into account.)
Something to make you smile...
Job Assignment
Put about 100 bricks in some particular order in a closed room with an open window. Then send 2 or 3 candidates in the room and close the door. Leave them alone and come back after 6 hours and then analyse the situation.
If they are counting the bricks. Put them in the accounts department.
If they are recounting them. Put them in auditing.
If they have messed up the whole place with the bricks. Put them in engineering.
If they are arranging the bricks in some strange order. Put them in planning.
If they are throwing the bricks at each other. Put them in operations.
If they are sleeping. Put them in security.
If they have broken the bricks into pieces. Put them in information technology.
If they are sitting idle. Put them in human resources.
If they say they have tried different combinations, yet not a brick has been moved. Put them in sales.
If they have already left for the day. Put them in marketing.
If they are staring out of the window. Put them on strategic planning.
And then last but not least.
If they are talking to each other and not a single brick has been moved, congratulate them and put them in Executive Management.
At last, a Truthful map of Britain
Today
Whatever you are up to today...
Stay safe and healthy.
As always...
