focus-ratings-mornoing newsGood morning...

Another busy day for me yesterday...

I was busy working on the new Secret Squirrel Mystery Service X (in collaboration with a long term Focus Ratings member) that I am hoping to launch late next week.

I have also been working on AntePostRatings.com - the website isn't finished yet but it'll probably be all done by first thing Monday.

And, on top of that, emails are coming in faster than I can reply to them - I may just need to clone myself.

Luckily for me, it rained over here yesterday morning so...

I couldn't sneak out for a cheeky beer on the terrace at the PMU and,

Obviously, I didn't need to water my plants.

So...

More time for me to get down to work.

Now, I have to say that today's ratings are going to come out a little bit later than normal.

I have started to install the new scripts to automate some of the things that I have to do every morning.

Please don't worry, once I have worked out how long those scripts are going to take to run, I'll just start the main script running a little bit earlier to compensate.

Those of you with very beady eyes will have noticed that a new option has popped up on the menu on the Focus Ratings website.

As I started doing (when GB racing closed down,) I shall start compiling details of Draw Bias (where applicable) and Focus Ratings historical Strike Rate/POI for different race types for each course. I may add in some Trainer stats as well.

I imagine that this will take me the best part of three months to complete (what with all the other things going on) but, once done, there will be a PDF for every race course in GB and IRE.

These will individually be updated once a year.

Focus Ratings

focusA 30% strike rate is higher than the average and, for the third day in a row, it was profitable to blindly back the top rated horse in every race.

Ante Post Ratings

27e164c0767bb5fcf74c98f871ba8524--gold-chains-operaFrom next week I shall be rating (well in advance) any decent races that need to be rated as part of my Ante Post Ratings service.

Obviously, you as Focus Ratings members will get access to these ratings for free.

Now, I anticipate that I should be able to produce Ante Post Ratings for all big race entries about month before the race.

I shall be mainly concentrating of the big GB festivals such as Epsom, Goodwood, Cheltenham, Boxing Day, Ascot and so forth but...

I'll also be covering the Irish festivals as well.

In addition, I'll be covering the big International meetings/festivals/races as well.

Races like the Japanese Derby (did I mention that our top rated horse won that race?)

And races like the French 2000 Guineas (did I mention that our top rated horse won that race?)

I'm also quite excited about doing the Melbourne cup and, in the States, the Breeders Cup and so forth.

I will be updating the PDFs twice a week (Mondays and Thursday) to weed out any horses that aren't going to actually run.

If you think that there are any decent races/meetings/festivals that I'm missing out on, please let me know.

Place Profits

Our Place Profits members celebrated a good return to racing with 2 selections yesterday.

Newcastle - 13:35 - Brunch - 1st @ 2.04 BSP (Place = 1.19 BSP.)

Newcastle - 14:10 - Al Salt - 1st @ 4.02 BSP (Place = 1.41 BSP.)

So, a nice start for us.

This makes it 4 wins and 5 seconds from the last 10 races (taking the 2 non-runners into account.)

Something to make you smile...

Cross Country

A woman from New York was driving through a remote part of Arizona when her car broke down.

An American Indian on horseback came along and offered her a ride to a nearby town.

She climbed up behind him on the horse and they rode off.

The ride was uneventful, except that every few minutes the Indian would let out a 'Ye-e-e-e-h-a-a-a-a' so loud that it echoed from the surrounding hills.

When they arrived in town, he let her off at the local service station, yelled one final 'Ye-e-e-e-h-a-a-a-a!' and rode off.

'What did you do to get that Indian so excited?' asked the service-station attendant.

'Nothing,' the woman answered. 'I merely sat behind him on the horse, put my arms around his waist, and held onto the saddle horn so I wouldn't fall off.'

'Lady,' the attendant said, 'Indians don't use saddles.
